She cues the familiar music in her head and starts to sway. These days she moves with the slow easy grace of someone who is comfortable in own her skin-at last.
Throughout her life, she has listened to the measured beats of every imaginable rhythm, rejecting some, embracing others, and sometimes staying out a little too late.
She had regrets once, for some of the tangled steps she chose to trace, but not any more. She knows that any other choreography would not have led her to the person she is today.
Tears and laughter, trials and triumphs-one thing is certain.
She knows the dance, by heart.
